Lake Bridgeport views, a 49,500-gallon pool, Fort Worth's newest linen collab, and what homeowners are renovating this summer.
Prices, inventory, and mortgage rates have all steadied. If you've been waiting for stability before making a move, it may already be here.
The typical buyer put down $5,000 less this year. Here's why — and how it could help you.
Two homes worth a look, what homeowners are spending on renovations, and DFW's best indoor golf spots.
Concessions are at a record high. Here's what that means whether you're buying or selling.
There are homes that check the boxes on paper, and then there are homes where the details actually hold up when you walk through the door. 8525 Castle Creek Road in North Richland Hills falls into the second category.
Built by Perry Homes, this property sits in an established neighborhood near Tarrant Parkway and Davis Boulevard, backing to peaceful greenspace with a rear gate entrance that keeps through traffic out. It's the kind of setting that's harder to find as more of the DFW area fills in — private and quiet, but still close to everything.
Inside, the floor plan is open and well-proportioned. Soaring ceilings and large windows in the living room make the space feel larger than the square footage suggests, and the fireplace gives it some warmth. The kitchen is designed for practical use: stone countertops, stainless appliances, and a large island with bar seating that makes it easy to gather while someone cooks. The primary suite is downstairs — a feature buyers frequently prioritize — and includes a sitting area, dual vanities, a soaking tub, a separate walk-in shower, and a large walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, flexible enough for guests, a home office, or whatever the next owner needs.
The backyard is one of the stronger selling points. A covered patio and oversized deck look out over the greenspace, making it a genuinely usable outdoor space for most of the year. The home also comes with a brand-new roof and a solar system with a 20-year warranty — the seller is open to paying it off at closing, which adds real long-term value for the buyer. Northfield Park and Cross Timbers Park are both nearby for trails and recreation. Zoned to Keller ISD.
The seller has made a price improvement and is offering concessions toward closing costs or a rate buy-down. Open house is Saturday, August 29 from 1 to 3 pm. Reach out to the team at Mills Real Estate Group to learn more or schedule a private showing.
Location is one of the first things buyers in Fort Worth ask about, and 5013 South Drive has a good answer. Situated just off South Drive, the home is minutes from TCU, Hulen, and positioned between Chisholm Trail Parkway and Loop 820 — a central spot that makes most of the city easy to reach without fighting for it.
The home itself is a three-bedroom, two-bath brick ranch that has been recently renovated with a consistent design choice running throughout: granite. Floors, countertops, and hearth all match, giving the interior a cohesive, updated feel that holds up in person. The open-concept living area flows from the entryway past the wood-burning fireplace into the kitchen, with windows and sliding glass doors pulling in natural light from the backyard.
The primary suite is oversized with his and her walk-in closets, a double vanity, garden tub, and separate shower. A second bedroom is split toward the front of the home with its own walk-in closet and access to a full hall bath. The eat-in kitchen has ample counter space, a large pantry, and a new barn door. Recent upgrades also include two media walls, fresh paint, new floors, and a new water heater. The granite breakfast table conveys with the home.
Outside, a covered patio and fenced backyard with mature pecan trees round out the property. It's a well-maintained home in a location that tends to hold its value.
Open house is this Sunday, August 30 from 10 am to 6 pm. Reach out to the team at Mills Real Estate Group to schedule a private showing or ask any questions ahead of time.
Fort Worth's Michelin-recognized barbecue spot is expanding, and the Stockyards is getting the second location.
Panther City BBQ — known for its smoked meats, Tex-Mex touches like brisket elote and pork belly poppers, and a late-night taco operation called La Pantera Tacos Y Mas — has signed a lease at 1540 N. Main Street in the Historic Northside. The space most recently housed La Playa Maya, which closed its Stockyards location in early July after more than 30 years in the neighborhood.
Founded in 2014 as a catering operation by Christian Magallanes and Ernest Morales, Panther City has grown steadily since opening its permanent location on East Hattie Street in 2019. The restaurant earned a spot in the inaugural Michelin Guide Texas in 2024 — a distinction it retained in 2025 — and took home Best Barbecue at the CultureMap Fort Worth Tastemaker Awards the same year.
The new Stockyards location puts them in the middle of the district's foot traffic, within walking distance of the area's restaurants, bars, live music venues, and hotels. The existing kitchen build-out means they won't be starting from scratch, though an opening date hasn't been announced yet — the owners have said to expect at least this winter.
Good news for the neighborhood, and another reason the Stockyards corridor continues to draw attention.
A new report from SmartAsset confirms what many in the Fort Worth market already sense: Texas is attracting a significant wave of younger buyers.
In 2025, Texas had more mortgage applications from adults under 35 than any other state in the country — 259,737 in total. That raw number put Texas well ahead of California and Florida, which ranked second and third in volume but near the bottom of the national list when it came to the share of young adult applications relative to all applicants. In Texas, nearly 23 percent of all mortgage applications came from buyers under 35, earning the state the No. 18 spot in SmartAsset's national ranking.
The report points to housing costs as a primary driver. Younger buyers are gravitating toward states where homeownership is still financially within reach, and Texas — with a typical home value of just over $302,000 — sits in a more accessible range than much of the country. Fort Worth in particular has been highlighted in multiple recent studies as a strong market for first-time buyers.
That said, the path isn't without friction. High interest rates and limited inventory continue to make it difficult for younger buyers to get into the market, and nearly nine in ten Americans under 35 say buying a home is harder today than it was for their parents, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey.
The appetite is clearly there. If you're in that under-35 camp and trying to figure out how to make the numbers work in today's market, reach out to the team at Mills Real Estate Group — there may be more options available to you than you think.
