For buyers looking in South Arlington, 5903 Pleasant Wood Trail is a straightforward home in a well-established neighborhood that holds up well in person.
At 1,796 square feet, the layout keeps things comfortable — spacious living areas, generously sized bedrooms, and a double-car garage that adds storage and daily convenience. Mature trees throughout the property provide shade and give the setting an established character that newer developments typically don't have.
The sellers have kept the home in good shape and made a round of recent updates: fresh interior and exterior paint, new bathroom sinks, and a new fence gate. There's nothing significant on the immediate to-do list for a buyer moving in.

5946 Harbor Glen Drive covers a lot of what buyers in Dallas are looking for: a main-floor primary suite, updated finishes, a functional floor plan, and a backyard with room to use.
The home is four bedrooms and three baths, with a layout that divides well between floors. The main level has the living room, kitchen, and primary suite — keeping the most-used spaces easily accessible. New luxury vinyl plank flooring and fresh paint run throughout, giving the interior a clean, updated feel without a renovation project hanging over the next owner. The kitchen has a center island, ample cabinet space, and enough counter room to actually cook and gather at the same time. The primary suite includes a garden tub, separate shower, dual sinks, and a walk-in closet.
Upstairs, a second living area gives the household a place to spread out, alongside three generously sized bedrooms and a full bath. Out back, the private yard is spacious enough for entertaining or simply having outdoor space that doesn't feel cramped.
The location is convenient — close to shopping, dining, parks, and major highway access, keeping most of Dallas within easy reach.

JCPenney Is Closing Its Ridgmar Mall Location After 50 Years
A Fort Worth retail fixture is closing its doors. JCPenney has confirmed that its Ridgmar Mall location will close on November 1, citing an inability to agree on lease terms and no suitable alternative location in the market. Going-out-of-business sales are already underway.
The store has been at Ridgmar since 1976 — 50 years as an anchor in a mall that has seen significant change over that time. Neiman Marcus, Macy's, and Sears have all vacated in recent years, leaving Dillard's as the remaining anchor. Tentative plans call for the 75-acre, 1.2 million-square-foot enclosed mall to be redeveloped as a mixed-use property, though no timeline has been announced.
After the Ridgmar closure, JCPenney will have 13 stores remaining in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the Fort Worth location at Alliance Town Center and additional stores in Arlington, Burleson, Hurst, and Weatherford.
For the Fort Worth real estate market, the closure is worth keeping an eye on. Large anchor tenant vacancies tend to accelerate conversations about what comes next for aging mall properties, and Ridgmar's redevelopment plans — if they move forward — could reshape a significant piece of west Fort Worth over the next several years. Mixed-use redevelopment of properties like this has driven meaningful neighborhood change in other DFW markets, and Ridgmar's location and acreage give it real potential in that direction.
Fort Worth in the Headlines: Top Schools, New Restaurants, and a Drive-In Closing
A few things worth knowing about what's happening in Fort Worth this week.
Two Fort Worth ISD high schools earned spots on U.S. News and World Report's 2026-2027 list of America's best high schools — a meaningful recognition for families considering the district. A nearby Mansfield school also ranked in the top 50 nationwide. For buyers with school-age children, Fort Worth ISD's performance at the top of national rankings is worth factoring into the search.
On the restaurant front, Fort Worth is getting Al Biernat's. The acclaimed Dallas steakhouse — widely considered one of the best in North Texas — is opening a third location at 913 Houston Street, across from the Flat Iron Building in downtown Fort Worth. It joins a stretch of recent openings that have added some welcome energy to the local dining scene.
On the other end of the spectrum, Coyote Drive-In is closing after 14 years. The outdoor theater's final day is set for Labor Day 2026, wrapping up a run that made it a genuine Fort Worth fixture for movies and warm-weather entertainment.
Fort Worth continues to add and evolve — which is part of what keeps it on buyers' radar.
