Spring break is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is preparing for a major surge in passengers in 2026.
Airport officials expect about 4.7 million travelers to pass through DFW between March 5 and March 24, making advance planning essential for anyone flying during the spring break period.
The busiest travel days are expected to fall on the weekends of March 13–16 and March 20–23, with March 15 projected to be the single busiest day, seeing more than 262,000 passengers moving through the airport.
With many North Texas school districts observing spring break during the same week, travel demand will be especially concentrated. Airport officials recommend arriving at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights to allow enough time for parking, check-in, and security.
One of the best ways to stay ahead of delays is by using the DFW Airport mobile app, which provides live parking availability, security wait times, terminal alerts, and construction updates.

The new shop, located at 3529 Heritage Trace Parkway, is set to open on March 14, just steps away from H-E-B. The brand has gained a strong following on social media thanks to its creative, over-the-top sundaes stacked high with ice cream, sauces, mix-ins, and signature “cores” baked inside.
The Fort Worth menu features more than 70 indulgent ice cream creations, including standouts like the Holy Cannoli, a vanilla ice cream sundae filled with cannoli cream and topped with chocolate chips and whipped cream, and That Thicc Boi, which layers chocolate ice cream with a brownie core, cookie dough, and chocolate buttercream frosting.
Another unique feature of The Scoop N Scootery is its late-night hours and delivery service. The shop will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 1 PM to midnight and Sundays from 1 PM to 10 PM, making it a perfect option for late-night dessert runs. True to its name, the concept originally started as an ice cream delivery truck, and the Fort Worth location will continue offering delivery within about a 40-minute radius of the store.
Owned locally by Teresa and Christian Viveiros, the Fort Worth shop becomes the brand’s seventh location nationwide, joining others in Boston, New Jersey, Charlotte, and Jacksonville.
