It was a busy week for Fort Worth, highlighted by exciting developments for some of the city's most recognizable businesses and landmarks.
One of the biggest stories was the announcement that Roy Pope Grocery, a beloved west-side institution serving Fort Worth since 1943, is entering a new chapter under the ownership of Westland Hospitality. The local restaurant group, known for favorites such as Pulido's Kitchen & Cantina, Margie's Italian Gardens, and West Side Cafe, plans to continue the store's legacy while building on its long-standing connection to the community.
Fort Worth also received national recognition after being ranked the No. 3 best big city to live in America for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report. The ranking highlights the city's continued growth, affordability, quality of life, and strong job market, further solidifying its reputation as one of the most desirable places to live in Texas.
Meanwhile, the local dining scene continues to thrive with new seasonal menus, restaurant openings, and expansions throughout the city, giving residents even more reasons to explore Fort Worth's vibrant food culture.
These stories reflect what many residents already know: Fort Worth continues to grow while maintaining the local character, businesses, and sense of community that make it a special place to call home.
Fort Worth continues to prove why so many people are choosing to call North Texas home.
According to a recent study by RentCafe, the 76177 ZIP code in North Fort Worth ranks as the seventh fastest-growing new neighborhood in the United States. The study analyzed housing and population growth across more than 32,000 ZIP codes nationwide, highlighting areas that have experienced significant development over the past decade.
The growth has been remarkable. Since 2014, the population in 76177 has increased by more than 300%, while housing inventory has grown by 266% to keep pace with demand. What was once home to just over 6,000 residents now serves a population of more than 24,000 people.
The area's popularity is driven by its convenient location, access to major employment centers, growing amenities, and continued investment throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The ZIP code stretches from the Texas Motor Speedway area south toward Chisholm Ridge and continues to attract both homebuyers and businesses.
North Texas also claimed two other spots in the top 10, with Prosper and Melissa ranking ninth and tenth, further demonstrating the region's ongoing growth and appeal.
For homeowners and buyers alike, the report is another reminder that Fort Worth remains one of the most desirable and fastest-growing markets in the country.
