Fort Worth's own Texas Christian University earned a spot in The Princeton Review's "Best 392 Colleges" guide for 2027 — and the recognition goes well beyond a single placement.

TCU came away with strong marks across multiple categories: 11th best-run college, 4th best quality of life, and 9th happiest students in the nation. The campus itself ranked 10th most beautiful, 11th best athletic facilities, and 15th best dorms. TCU also appeared on the Best Value Colleges list and the Mental Health Honor Roll.

Meet Bolt: DFW Airport's New Top Dog

The next time you pass through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, keep an eye out for a three-year-old German shorthaired pointer named Bolt — because he just won the TSA's annual Cutest Canine Contest, and he's earned it.

Bolt is a bomb-sniffing dog stationed at DFW, and he beat out 84 other TSA canines from across the country to take the top spot. The contest started with nominations from handlers at airports nationwide, was narrowed to four regional finalists by agency employees, and then went to a public vote on social media. Bolt won.

His handler, Daphne Wang, describes him as a hard worker with a personality to match. "There is nothing ordinary about him," she says. "He works hard and plays even harder. He is always 1,000 percent excited to go to work."

Behind the fun of the contest is a genuinely important operation. TSA explosive-detection canine teams move through crowds at airports sniffing for explosive materials, and they've been part of the agency's security approach since shortly after 9/11. Handlers and their dogs train together at a facility in San Antonio before being deployed to airports across the country.

Bolt is doing serious work — he just happens to be extremely cute while doing it. DFW is lucky to have him.
